SUPERIOR CHEVROLET - POLICE DEPARTMENT:
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A CHEVROLET TRAVERSE FROM SUPERIOR
CHEVROLET OF SILOAM SPRINGS IN THE AMOUNT OF $23,329.85, PURSUANT TO A STATE
PROCUREMENT CONTRACT, FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves the purchase of a
Chevrolet Traverse from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs in the amount of $23,329.85, pursuant to a
state procurement contract, for use by the Police Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Traverse for Police
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of one Chevrolet Traverse is available for the State
Contract price of $23,329.85 from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, AR. for use by the
Police Department.
BACKGROUND:
The Training Division's responsibilities have grown with the department's accreditation through
the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), as well as the
addition and turnover of police officers within our department. An additional vehicle is needed to
help provide transportation to the many training events required to meet responsibilities that has
come with accreditation and growth. This expansion was approved with the 2017 budget.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of one Chevrolet Traverse is available for the State Contract
price of $23,329.85 from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, AR. for use by the Police
Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted for this purchase.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on December 13, 2016.
