PROJECTS LIST FOR 2017.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves the
Transportation Division Overlay and Sidewalk Projects list for 2017. A copy of the 2017 Overlay and
Sidewalk Projects list is attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof.

SUBJECT: Approval of 2017 Overlay/Sidewalk Projects
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff and the Transportation Committee recommend a resolution approving the Transportation
Division asphalt overlay/sidewalk projects list for 2017. The 2017 project list was presented to
the Transportation Committee on November 29, 2016. The Transportation Committee requests
the final list be presented to the City Council for its approval by resolution in accordance with
Ordinance No. 5173.
BACKGROUND:
The Transportation Division reviews the need for street overlays and sidewalk improvements
based on conditions, requests, and other factors. The In -House Pavement Improvements
program includes asphalt, curb and guttering, pavement striping, and preparation costs for the
overlays. The Sidewalk Improvements program improves the connectivity of the sidewalk
system by constructing new sidewalk and replacing or repairing existing sidewalks throughout
the city. This project also includes funding for ADA accessible ramps.
DISCUSSION:
The proposed 2017 overlay project list presents a total of 29,768 linear feet or 5.4 miles of street
overlays and 4.3 miles of street microsurfacing.
The 2017 sidewalk improvements project list proposes a total of 6,738 linear feet.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Funds for labor, equipment, materials, and services are included in the 2017 Capital Budget:
(In -House Pavement Improvements $1,707,000 and Sidewalk Improvements $750,000)
