BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #16-33 and
authorizes the purchase of two (2) 2016 Ford F-350 flatbed trucks from Superior Automotive Group of
Siloam Springs, Arkansas in the total amount of $66,558.00 for use at the City's wastewater treatment
facilities.

SUBJECT: Purchase of two Flatbed Trucks for Wastewater
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of two 2016 Ford F350 Flatbed trucks available for the
lowest amount received through Bid 16-33 from Superior Automotive Group of Siloam Springs,
AR for $33,279.00 each, a total of $66,558.00 for use in the Wastewater Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 325U is a 2000 Ford F350 used by Wastewater Treatment Plant East in the maintenance
department. It has far exceeded its 10 year life and is beginning to have mechanical issues.
We are replacing this with a flatbed to optimize hauling ability. The standard truck bed on 325U
has been damaged trying to haul what is needed. The flatbed will also have a gooseneck hitch
so that it can assist in pulling trailers.
Unit 339 is a 2002 Ford F350 with a flatbed used by Wastewater Treatment Plant East to pull
gooseneck trailers to move hay and equipment at the biosolids management site. It has far
exceeded its 10 year life and is beginning to have mechanical issues.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of two 2016 Ford F350 Flatbed trucks available for the lowest
amount received through Bid 16-33 from Superior Automotive Group of Siloam Springs, AR for
$33,279.00 each, a total of $66,558.00 for use in the Wastewater Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been collected and budgeted for these purchases.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on May 10, 2016.
