NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby amends Resolution No. 191-14 by replacing all references to "Bid No. 14-59" with "Bid No. 15-24" and reducing the total cost of the purchase from $287,516.00 to $279,000.00. BACKGROUND: Unit #357 is a 2007 F550 dump truck. The motor went out of it last year. It would cost between $15 and $16 thousand dollars to replace the motor. As the truck has been in service for nearly 8 years, it was decided to replace the truck instead of spending that much to repair it. Unit 329 is a 2002 Ford F550, 1.5 ton dump truck that is worn out and needs to be replaced. This purchase was approved by Council on Resolution 191-14 on Nov. 6, 2014. When the vendor began to build the truck, they discovered that they could not provide the type of brakes specified in the bid. Fleet has re -bid this truck out; the bids are in and the purchase price is actually a bit lower so we are saving money. DISCUSSION: Fleet recommends the purchase of two 2015 International 7300 trucks with Henderson Mark III Dump Body and Henderson 10 underbody scrapers in the amount of $139,500 each for a total of $279,000 off of Bid 15-24 through Summit Truck Group of Lowell, AR. This purchase was presented to the Equipment Committee on April 14, 2015. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: Sufficient funds were budgeted for this purchase.
