A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A 2015 DODGE RAM
2500 PICKUP TRUCK FROM LANDERS DODGE OF BENTON, ARKANSAS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $24,752.00 PURSUANT TO A STATE
PROCUREMENT CONTRACT FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves
the purchase of a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck from Landers Dodge of Benton, Arkansas
in the amount of $24,752.00 pursuant to a state procurement contract for use by the Police
Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one pickup truck for Police
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of one 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 off the Arkansas State
contract in the amount of $24,752.00 from Landers Dodge Jeep of Benton, AR
BACKGROUND:
Unit 2037 is a 2001 Ford Cargo Van that the Police department has been using for a crime
scene unit. It does not function well for this purpose; they have made do for years but really
need something that will function better. It contains shelving and compartments to hold supplies
and they currently have several toolboxes lining the floor to try and make it work for them. Fleet
will purchase a Dodge Ram with an Extendo Bed for the Police, and that will better fit their
needs. By replacing the van with a truck, Police will be able to use it for more than just crime
scene events.
The Media department is in need of a van with shelving to transport their items. This van has
low mileage (only 16,125 miles) and still has life left, Fleet would like to move this unit to the
Media department. The Media department has budgeted enough to purchase the used van and
for the monthly operating charges.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of one 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 off the Arkansas State contract
in the amount of $24,752.00 from Landers Dodge Jeep of Benton, AR
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on March 10, 2015.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been collected and budgeted for this purchase, including the upfit items.
