TO A STATE PROCUREMENT CONTRACT, FOR USE BY THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes
the purchase of six (6) police package Chevrolet Tahoes from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam
Springs in the total amount of $169,662.00, pursuant to a state procurement contract, for use by
the Police Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of six Tahoes for Police
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of six 2015 Chevrolet Tahoes with Police Packages
available through Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs at the Arkansas State Contract price in
the amount of $28,277.00 each, for a total of $169,662.00.
BACKGROUND:
The following Police units are in need of replacement:
• Unit 1187 — 2008 Ford Crown Vic has over 130,000 miles and has cost 66% of its
original purchase price in maintenance costs.
• Unit 1184 - 2008 Ford Crown Vic has over 121,000 miles and has cost 53% of its
original purchase price in maintenance costs.
• Unit 1203 - 2009 Ford Crown Vic has over 116,000 miles and has cost 73% of its
original purchase price in maintenance costs.
• Unit 1199 - 2009 Ford Crown Vic has over 121,000 miles and has cost 44% of its
original purchase price in maintenance costs.
• Unit 1202 - 2009 Ford Crown Vic has over 124,000 miles and has cost 67% of its
original purchase price in maintenance costs.
• Unit 1201 - 2009 Ford Crown Vic has over 119,000 miles and has cost 56% of its
original purchase price in maintenance costs.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of six 2015 Chevrolet Tahoes with Police Packages available
through Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs at the Arkansas State Contract price in the
amount of $28,277.00 each, for a total of $169,662.00.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on March 10, 2015.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient Funds have been budgeted and collected for each unit.
