SUPER Z MOWERS FROM WILLIAMS TRACTOR OF FAYETTEVILLE IN
THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $47,857.00 PURSUANT TO A STATE
PROCUREMENT CONTRACT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves
the purchase of four (4) Hustler Super Z mowers from Williams Tractor of Fayetteville in the
total amount of $47,857.00, pursuant to a state procurement contract.

SUBJECT: Purchase of three mowers for Parks and one lawn mower for Airport
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of three 2015 Hustler Super Z mowers, with propane for
the amount of $12,363.00 each and the purchase of one 2015 Hustler Super Z mower, with gas
for the amount of $10,768.00, for a total of $47,857.00 available off the Arkansas State
purchase contract from Williams Tractor of Fayetteville, AR.
BACKGROUND:
Units 5017, 5018 and 5019 are all 5 year old Hustler Mowers that are worn out and can no
longer stand up to Parks demanding front line use. Units 5018 and 5017 were both scheduled
for replacement in 2014 and were pushed back to 2015. 5019 was scheduled for replacement
in 2015.
Units 5017 and 5019 do not have propane, however the new mowers will be run on propane to
improve our fuel cost and environmental footprint. Unit 5018 is already a propane unit, and the
replacement will also be propane.
Unit 5021 is a 2010 John Deere mower with a 5 year life at the airport. It is worn out and due
for replacement. This unit is not propane and the new unit will not be propane either because it
is not cost effective for the Airport staff to drive to Fleet to fuel up.
DISCUSSION:
2015 Hustler Super Z mowers are available with and without propane off the Arkansas State
Purchase Contract from Williams Tractor of Fayetteville, AR.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on February 10, 2015.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for all replacements.
