BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#15-19 to Pig Trail Harley Davidson of Rogers, Arkansas and authorizes the purchase of three
(3) Harley Davidson FHLTP motorcycles in the total amount of $59,742.00 for use by the Police
Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of three motorcycles for Police
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of three 2015 Harley Davidson FLHTP Motorcycles
from Pig Trail Harley Davidson of Rogers, Arkansas off of Bid 15-19 in the amount of
$19,914.00 each, for a total of $59,742.00 for use by the Police Department.
BACKGROUND:
Units 1210 and 1211 are both 2009 Harley Davidson FLHTP Police Package Motorcycles that
were due for replacement in 2014 and were pushed back until 2015. They are no longer
dependable enough for front line police work. They need to be replaced.
Unit 1237 is a 2012 Harley Davidson FLHTP Police Package Motorcycle that was totaled in an
accident in September 2014 and needs to be replaced.
DISCUSSION:
Bid 15-19 was opened on January 30th, Pig Trail Harley Davidson had the lowest bid that met
all specs that were required in the amount of $19,914.00 each, for a total of $59,742.00 for use
by the Police Department.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on February 10, 2015.
BUDGETISTAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient replacement funds have been budgeted for units 1210 and 1211. The funds already
collected along with what the old units will bring when sold will easily cover the costs of the new
units.
Although unit 1237 was not budgeted to be replaced in 2015, there is a surplus of funds from
other units. These funds will be used to replace 1237.
