A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 2015 DODGE
RAM 1500 PICKUP TRUCK FROM LANDERS DODGE OF BENTON,
ARKANSAS IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,367.00 PURSUANT TO A STATE
PROCUREMENT CONTRACT FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT,
AND TO APPROVE A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves
the purchase of one (1) 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck from Landers Dodge of Benton,
Arkansas in the amount of $20,367.00 pursuant to a state procurement contract for use by the
Police Department.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a
budget adjustment, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves the purchase of
one (1) 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck from Landers Dodge of Benton, Arkansas in the amount of
$20,367.00 pursuant to a state procurement contract for use by the Police Department.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a budget
adjustment, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof.

Action Recommendation:
A resolution approving the purchase of one Dodge Ram 1500 pickup from Lander's Dodge of Benton, AR in the
amount of $20,367 for use in the Police Department, and approval of a budget adjustment moving funds in Fleet
expense accounts.
Comments: Fleet budgeted to replace unit 1125 - a passenger car (POLC_F015) with a replacement pickup. Funds
were budgeted in the passenger car project 02081 in 2014, however replacement was pushed back to
2015 and it was determinded that a pickup truck would better suit the needs of the police department.
For this reason, we are requesting that the funds be moved to the light/medium truck project 02078 in
2015.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Dodge Ram 1500 pickup for Police Department
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of one Dodge Ram 1500 pickup from Lander's Dodge
of Benton, AR in the amount of $20,367, and approve a budget adjustment to move funds in
Fleet expense accounts.
BACKGROUND:
1125 is a 2005 Taurus with 115,000 miles, is worn out and due for replacement. It was
originally budgeted and scheduled for replacement in 2014, but was pushed back to 2015.
Police has requested that this car be replaced with a 1/2 ton 2x4 pickup truck to better fit their
needs.
DISCUSSION:
The pickup is available off the state vehicle purchase contract. Fleet recommends the purchase
of one Dodge Ram 1500 pickup from Lander's Dodge of Benton, AR in the amount of $20,367
for use in the Police Department.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on January 13, 2015.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
We have budgeted and collected sufficient funds for this replacement.
