School BACKGROUND: LifeSource International (602 S. School) has been a long-time recipient of CDBG funds due to their continued efforts to serve the city's low and moderate income (LMI) residents. ' DISCUSSION: Kitchen improvements were needed in order to continue effectively serving Fayetteville's LMI population. No employees of the Community Resources Division are allowed to fill out bid sheets for Contractors. 2. The company or contractor name and project # shall be stated on the face of the sealed bid envelope. 3. Bidders shall include all applicable local, state, and federal sales tax in the bid. The responsibility of payment shall remain with the successful bidder. 4. Prices shall include all labor, materials, profit, insurance, etc., to cover the furnishing of the items of the bid. 5. Bids received after the date and time set for receiving bids will not be considered. 6. The City of Fayetteville reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, waive formalities in the bidding and make a bid award deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Fayetteville. The bidder must include in any and all subcontracts a provision similar to the above. 21. A Maximum of three payments may be made on each Housing Rehabilitation Project. The contractor's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1) Purchasing of all materials. 2) Supervision of all employees and subcontractors. 3) Coordination with the City of Fayetteville Community Resources Administrator, the City of Fayetteville I .Code Compliance Office and owners. 4) Project design. 5) Clean up and restoration of all lawns, planters, walking and driving surfaces to their original condition. 6) Keep job site safe for others and practice safe working practices as required. SPECIFICS: A: DEMO OF CABINETS A— I Remove cabinet left of ice machine. A - 2 Remove cabinet right of Vulcan oven. A — 3 Remove cabinet base that is at the pass thru window while trying to keep the wall under the window and keeping the bi-fold doors to function when new cabinet is installed. B: INSTALL STAINLESS ITEMS B - I Install at left of ice machine a stainless steel enclosed base cabinet with drawers that is approximately 66 inches wide with a stainless steel countertop. Install three stainless steel wall mounted shelves to the concrete block above the base unit. Base cabinet does not have to fasten to the wall and it would be preferable to have one smaller drawer at the top with two larger ones below it. The drawers should be strong, sturdy drawers. The number of drawers across should match or be comparable to the cabinets that are being replaced. B - 2 Install to right of Vulcan oven a stainless steel enclosed base cabinet with drawers that is approximately 48 inches wide with a stainless steel countertop. Install three stainless steel wall mounted shelves to the concrete block above the base unit. Base cabinet does not have to fasten to the wall and it would be preferable to have one smaller drawer at the top with two larger ones below it. The drawers should be strong, sturdy drawers. The number of drawers across should match or be comparable to the cabinets that are being replaced. B - 3 In the pass thru opening install a stainless steel enclosed base cabinet with drawers that is approximately nine feet wide with a stainless steel countertop. It would be preferable to have one smaller drawer at the top with two larger ones below it. The drawers should be strong, sturdy drawers. The cabinet counter top will need to be installed in such a way that the bi-fold doors will still function as they do now to close off the kitchen from the dining area. The number of drawers across should match or be comparable to the cabinets that are being replaced. B — 4 Install an approximately 7 foot wide stainless steel pot rack to be hung from chains below the lights over the existing stainless steel island. Ensure the chains are attached to the ceiling in a way that it will be sturdy to hold many pans. C: TOUCHUPS AND MISC C — I Paint any areas around all the new cabinets to provide a finished look. Match the paint to the existing walls. C — 2 If the wall under the hi -fold doors had to be taken out when the cabinet was removed then provide a new barrier to close off this area to enclose and cover the back of the cabinet. This can be made out of several types of materials but it should serve the purpose of sealing the kitchen from the dining room with no sharp edges or unfinished materials. D: CLEANUP D - I All new, used, and excess construction materials that relate to the job or a change order(s) belongs to the contractor and can be removed from the property by the contractor as needed during the project and shall be removed at completion. D -2 All trash shall be hauled off by contractor and preferably recycled if possible. D - 3 All affected areas shall be left broom clean. D - 4 If lead paint is present, cleanup will be compliant with EPA/HUD Approved Lead Safety standards. E: OTHER E - I All work or materials which are not directly noted in the Scope of Work and Specifies, but are necessary for the proper carrying out of the obvious intentions thereof, are to be understood as implied work and will be provided for by the contractor as if specifically described or drawn. E - 2 All work shall be performed in a workmanlike manner according to common construction practices, according to the specifications set forth in the Community Resources Program's General Specification Manual, and with adherence to city, state, and national codes. E - 3 Any damage to the dwelling or property caused by the contractor, his/her worker(s) or delivery person, and/or their vehicles during the project shall be repaired to like new conditions. E - 4 Where applicable, all electrical work shall be performed by a Arkansas State licensed electrical contractor with adherence to the current National Electrical Code.
