BACKGROUND: Unit 484 is a 2006 Autocar Front Load Solid Waste Collection Truck. Maintenance cost have reached 83% of its original purchase price. It is by far, the oldest front loader in the City's fleet and can no longer stand up to the tasks Recycling and Trash Collection needs it to perform. DISCUSSION: Fleet recommends the purchase of one Peterbilt 320 with Labrie/Wittke Superduty Front Loader from bid 15-47 and is available through Peterbilt of Fort Smith in the amount of $243,520.00. Peterbilt did have a slightly lower bid that had a different body, however that option did not meet the specifications required.
