CITY OF

AS
MEETING OF AUGUST 4, 2015
TO:
Mayor and City Council
THRU:
Jeremy Pate, Development Services Director
FROM:
Yolanda Fields, Community Resources Director
DATE:
July 16, 2015
SUBJECT:
Approval of Budget Adjustment for the Community Resources Division
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of a budget adjustment to recognize and budget Ranger's Pantry Donations
and CDBG Program Income received.
BACKGROUND:
Community Resources would like to recognize program income from two lien payoffs, a public facilities
equipment resale, and a lien payoff plan, as well as donations from citizens and local businesses for
Ranger's Pantry
DISCUSSION:
On February 12, 2015, the new buyers of 1000 S. College Ave. sent in a check for $7,262.13 to repay the
CDBG program since the home had been sold before the forgivable lien period expired. On June 12,
2015, the Yvonne Richardson Community Center sold used Sport Court flooring on GovDeals. The
flooring was paid for with CDBG funds, therefore the money received for the court had to be returned to
the CDBG program as program income. The total received was $92.50. In July 2015, an agreement was
reached with the owners of 1747 N. Oakland Ave. to repay the CDBG program $11,737.58 in installments
due to the terms of the contract being violated. The first payment of $500 was received on July 14, 2015.
On July 16, 2015, the new buyers of 265 S. Cross Ave. sent in a check for $11,358.33 to repay the CDBG
program since the home had been sold before the forgivable lien period expired. All program income
received totals $19,212.96.
On February 9, 2015, a local business, The Mustache, sent a donation check for $85 to Ranger's Pantry
for holiday cards that were sold in their stores at the end of 2014. This year, Fayetteville Foam Fest chose
Ranger's Pantry as one of their beneficiaries of their fundraiser, and a check for $1,250 was received
from Fayetteville Foam Fest on June 9, 2015. Also, throughout the year, citizen's private donations were
received totaling $362. All Ranger's Pantry donations received total $1,697.
