Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a budget adjustment, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution. BACKGROUND: Unit 816 is a 2007 Bobcat 435 Excavator. It has cost more than 54% of its original purchase price in maintenance and will no longer stand up to Transportation's demanding use. Unit 819 is a 2009 Bobcat 435 Excavator. It has cost more than 75% of its original purchase price in maintenance and will no longer stand up to Transportation's demanding use. This unit has had more than 2,000 hours of down time due to maintenance and it is now impacting the productivity of our Trails crew. DISCUSSION: Fleet recommends the purchase of two 2015 Bobcat E45 T4 Excavators available off of NJPA contract through William's Tractor of Fayetteville Arkansas in the amount of $59,400 each for a total of $118,800.00. This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on July 14, 2015. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: Sufficient funds have been collected for the replacement of unit 816. Unit 819 has a shortfall in funds that have been collected, however, the average sale of like units is $23,500 and will more than cover the remaining balance. These units were originally budgeted for 2016, they were moved to 2015 after last year's review. Sufficient funds are available within the 2015 budget for this purchase, a BA for this adjustment is included in this request.
