BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #15-32
and authorizes the purchase of two (2) Peterbilt 348 trucks with Labrie 2RIII Rear Loaders from
Peterbilt of Fort Smith in the total amount of $369,180.00 for use by the Recycling and Trash
Collection Division.
PASSED and APPROVED this 16th day of June, 2015.

SUBJECT: Purchase of two Rear Load Trash Trucks for Recycling & Trash Collection
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of two Peterbilt 348 trucks with Labrie 2RIII Rear
Loaders in the amount of $184,590 each for a total of $369,180 off of Bid 15-32 through
Peterbilt of Fort Smith.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 481 is a 2006 Autocar rear loading trash truck. It has over 95,000 miles and has cost more
than 95% of its original purchase price in maintenance. It was budgeted in 2014 but was
pushed to 2015 for purchase.
Unit 482 is a 2006 Autocar rear loading trash truck. It has over 93,000 miles and has cost more
than 77% of its original purchase price in maintenance.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of two Peterbilt 348 with Labrie 2RIII Rear Loaders in the
amount of $184,590 each for a total of $369,180 off of Bid 15-32 through Peterbilt of Fort Smith.
This purchase was presented to the Equipment Committee on May 26, 2015.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for both of these purchases.
