BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#14-19 to Lewis Ford Sales, Inc. of Fayetteville, Arkansas and approves the purchase of three (3)
Ford F250 4x4 pickup trucks with Meyer snow plows in the total amount of $98,707.86 for use
by the Parks and Transportation Divisions.
PASSED and APPROVED this 1st day of April, 2014.

SUBJECT: Purchase of three pickups with snow plows
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase off bid #14-19 of three Ford F250 4x4 pickups with
Meyer snow plows from Lewis Ford Sales of Fayetteville, AR in the amount of $98,707.86.
BACKGROUND:
Unit #2053 is a 2002 Ford F250 4x4 pickup used by Parks division which was scheduled for
replacement in 2012 but was pushed back to 2014. It is worn out and needs to be replaced
now.
Units #2064 and #2065 are both 2004 F250 4x4 pickups used by Transportation division which
are worn out and need to be replaced.
DISCUSSION:
Bid #14-19 was opened March 6th; a bid tab sheet is attached. Lewis Ford is the low bidder that
meets all specifications. They quoted on a Meyer snow plow which is the same unit that is used
by the City on our light./ medium snow removal equipment. Interchangeability of parts by
purchasing the same brand snow plow allows us to add plows without having to add another
line of snow plow repair parts.
Fleet recommends the purchase of three 2014 Ford F250 4x4 pickups with Meyer snow plows
from Lewis Ford Sales of Fayetteville, AR off Bid #14-19 in the amount of $32,902.62 each for a
total of $98,707.86.

These units were budgeted on both capital and operating sides.
