BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#14-17 to Chevrolet of Fayetteville and approves the purchase of one (1) Chevrolet 2500 HD
pickup truck with topper and Jotto cargo slide in the total amount of $34,350.00 for use by the
Fire Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one pickup for Fire Department
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase off Bid #14-17 of one Chevrolet 2500HD Pickup with
topper and Jotto slide from Chevrolet of Fayetteville in the amount of $34,350.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 1116 is a 2004 Ford Expedition that was due for replacement in 2012 but was pushed back
to 2014. It needs to be replaced with a 3/4 ton pickup. During 2011, the Fire Department worked
with Fleet to evaluate their emergency response vehicles. It was determined that a standardized
pickup best fits the needs of the Department when considering all the equipment that is needed
on emergency scenes and the ability to pull Fire Department trailers.
DISCUSSION:
Bid 14-17 was opened February 19th; a copy of the Bid Tab is attached. Chevrolet of
Fayetteville was the low bidder and their bid meets all specs.
Fleet recommends the purchase of one Chevrolet 2500HD Pickup with topper and Jotto slide
from Chevrolet of Fayetteville in the amount of $34,350.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient replacement funds have been collected for this purchase; it has been budgeted for on
the operating and capital sides.
