The 2014 project list was presented to the Street Committee on February 11, 2014. The Street Committee requests the fmal list be presented to the City Council for its approval by resolution in accordance with Ordinance No. 5173. RECOMMENDATION: Each year the Transportation Division reviews the need for street overlays based on existing conditions of streets. The In -House Pavement Improvements program includes asphalt, curb and guttering, pavement striping, and preparation costs for the overlays. The Sidewalk Improvements program improves the connectivity of the sidewalk system by constructing new sidewalk and replacing or repairing sidewalks throughout the city. This project also includes funding for ADA accessible ramps. The 2014 overlay project primary list proposes a total of 19,144 linear feet or 3.6 miles and an additional 4.7 miles of streets for micro seal and an alternate list of asphalt overlays. The 2014 sidewallc improvements project list proposes a total of 32,049 linear feet sununarized by ward as follows: Ward #1 Ward #2 Ward #3 Ward #4 10,430 linear feet 8,485 linear feet 7,220 linear feet 5,914 linear feet BUDGET IMPACT: Funds for labor, equipment, materials, and services are included in the 2014 Sales Tax Capital Improvements Fund project budgets (In -House Pavement Improvements $1,692,000; Sidewalk Improvements $520,000) and $1,042,000 in Street Fund for sidewalk improvements.
