BACKGROUND: The City of Fayetteville has been planning for a Regional Park since 2002. A site was selected in 2003, and after many years approximately 200 acres were generously donated by Chambers Bank for the park. DISCUSSION: Lose and Associates has finalized the master plan for the park and is moving forward with construction documents for the first phase. During the master planning process additional geotechnical testing was necessary due to a shift in the ballfield layout. The shift moved the fields further into the hillside and additional geotechnical testing was necessary to determine the type of wall necessary to accommodate the fields. An additional cost of $8,668.75 was incurred for the additional testing. Excess funds in the amount of $3,391.72 for travel, mileage and administrative costs is available in the contract. Staff is requesting approval for an addition of $3,277.41 to the contract for geotechnical testing for the retaining wall needed due to shifting of fields. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: This project is funded with Parks Development funds in the project 02002.1 - Regional Park. Adequate funds are available in the project for Change Order #2.
