ALL TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $46,351.50 PLUS
APPLICABLE TAXES FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#14-51 and authorizes the purchase of thirteen (13) portable speed display signs from All Traffic
Solutions in the amount of $46,351.50 plus applicable taxes for use by the Police Department.

SUBJECT: Award Bid #14-51 for Portable Speed Display Signs
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends award of Bid #14-51 to lowest qualified bidder, All Traffic Solutions,
and approval of the purchase of thirteen (13) portable speed display signs in the amount of
$50,870.77.
BACKGROUND:
$50,000 in funding for this purchase is currently budgeted in the Capital Improvement
Program (CIP) under project number 11008-1. This funding was originally allocated for the
purchase of a digital storage server in 2011; however, through technological advances this
purchase became unnecessary. In 2014, this CIP Project became a priority with the increasing
public demand for traffic calming devices.
DISCUSSION:
These portable speed display signs will be used primarily around the Fayetteville public
schools. These signs will enhance traffic, pedestrian and child safety and serve as a reminder
to motorists to travel at the posted speed limit. Staff proposes the use of state forfeitures in the
amount of $870.77 to supplement the $50,000 currently budgeted in the CIP to complete the
funding for the purchase of the portable speed displays.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
There will be neither budget nor staffing impact with this purchase.
