A RESOLUTION TO AWARD BID #14-36 TO LEWIS FORD SALES, INC.
OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A FORD F250
PICKUP TRUCK WITH DEERSKIN ANIMAL CONTROL BODY IN THE
AMOUNT OF $51,415.02 FOR USE BY THE ANIMAL SERVICES
DIVISION, AND TO APPROVE A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#14-36 to Lewis Ford Sales, Inc. of Fayetteville, Arkansas and approves the purchase of a Ford
F250 pickup truck with Deerskin animal control body in the amount of $51,415.02 for use by the
Animal Control Division.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a
budget adjustment, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit "A".
PASSED and APPROVED this 2nd day of September, 2014.

Animal Services is upgrading the old unit #2119, POSITION #ANSV_F002 and therefore must pay for the upgrade for
unit #2185 per policy. Donation funds are being used to cover the purchase of a new upgraded animal control truck
that better suits the needs of the officers.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one F250 pickup with Deerskin animal control body
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of one Ford F250 with Deerskin animal control body in
the amount of $51,415.02 for use by Animal Services Division, and approval of a budget
adjustment.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 2119 is a 2008 Ford Ranger with animal control body that has over 131,000 miles on it.
This is the second truck that the animal control body has been used on — both are worn out and
need to be replaced. It was scheduled for replacement this year.
DISCUSSION:
Bid 14-36 was opened on July 15, 2014; a copy of the bid tab is attached. There was one bid
received from Lewis Ford Sales and they meet all specs.
Fleet recommends the purchase of one Ford F250 pickup with Deerskin Prosafety animal
control body off Bid 14-36 from Lewis Ford of Fayetteville, AR in the amount of $51,415.02
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient replacement funds have not yet been collected to replace this unit so a Budget
Adjustment has been prepared by Animal Services to make up the difference.
