A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,359.80 RECOGNIZING GRANT REVENUE FROM THE
NATIONAL CENTER FOR APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY FOR PRINTING
OF CITY DRAINAGE CRITERIA MANUALS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a
budget adjustment, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A", in the amount of $1,359.80
recognizing grant revenue from the National Center for Appropriate Technology for printing of
City Drainage Criteria Manuals.

Subject: Approval to recognize funds from the National Center for Appropriate Technology and a
budget adjustment for printing Drainage Criteria Manuals.
PROPOSAL
In 2010, the City of Fayetteville was selected as a pilot city to develop affordable housing and sustainable
transportation with $500,000 in funding from the Sustainable Cities Institute through the Home Depot
Foundation. At that time the City funded an update to its Drainage Criteria Manual including Low Impact
Development Criteria. This manual development provided the match contribution for the Sustainable Cities
Institute grant. As the Drainage Criteria Manual nears completion, the National Center for Appropriate
Technology, the lead agency in the grant partnership, has provided $1,359.80 in funding for use towards
printing the new manual.
Upon finalization of the manual, these funds will be used towards purchasing printed manuals for City staff and
engineering consultants who will utilize the manual. Staff has preliminarily priced the manuals at $2,434.27
plus tax for 20 manuals. When final printing prices are received, staff will request mayor approval to match
these funds with approximately $1075 from the Stormwater Quality Management and Nutrient Reduction Plan
budget to print a total of 20 manuals.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of a resolution to recognize funds in the amount of $1,359.80 from the National
Center for Appropriate Technology and approval of a budget adjustment.
