A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A 90/10 MATCHING
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT THROUGH FEMA IN THE
ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $427,500.00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A FRONT
LINE FIRE PUMPER APPARATUS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes
application for a 90/10 matching Assistance to Firefighters Grant through FEMA in the
estimated amount of $427,500.00 for the purchase of a front line fire pumper apparatus for the
Fire Department.

Subject: Approval to apply for and use matching funds for federal grant.
PROPOSAL!
The City of Fayetteville Fire Department has identified an opportunity to apply for an Assistance
to Firefighters Grant (AFG) through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in
order to purchase a Front Line Fire Pumper Apparatus. The cost of a Fire Pumper is approximately
$475,000. The amount of the grant will be $427,500 (90%) with a City match of $47,500 (10%).
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the matching funds for a 2013 Assistance to Firefighters Grant in
the amount of $475,000. The actual amount of the grant would be $427,500 (90%) with a City
match of $47,500 (10%). Funding would be for the purchase of a Front Line Fire Pumper
Apparatus.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds for the City's 10% match contribution are available from Fire Department Act 833 Revenue.
