That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #13-49 and authorizes a contract with MHC Kenworth of Springdale in the amount of $158,000.00 for the purchase of one (1) pothole patcher truck. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a budget adjustment, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit "A". RECOMMENDATION: Unit #85 is a 1998 Ford F800 Pothole Patcher truck that was initially due for replacement in 2008, but it was pushed back each year and was finally budgeted to replace in 2013. Bid #13-49 was opened September 60'; bid tab sheet is attached. The engine for the low bid does not meet specs. The second lowest bid from MHC Kenworth of Springdale does meet specs. Option 1 from Peterbilt did not have the disc brakes as specified; when the disc brakes are added in, their price is the third lowest. Fleet recommends purchasing a Kenworth T370 cab and chassis with Bergkamp FP5 pothole patcher body per bid specs bid #13-49 in the amount of $158,000 from MHC Kenworth of Springdale, AR. This purchase was unanimously approved by the Equipment Committee at the meeting of October 8, 2013 BUDGET IMPACT: On the capital side, the purchase price was underestimated by $8,200 so a budget adjustment is needed to cover the shortfall. This unit was budgeted for on the operating side. RESOLUTION NO.
