PURCHASE OF TWO (2) MACK TRUCKS WITH WAYNE TITAN BODIES
FROM SHIPLEY MOTOR EQUIPMENT COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF
$490,120.00 FOR USE BY THE SOLID WASTE DIVISION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#13-20 and authorizes the purchase of two (2) Mack trucks with Wayne Titan bodies from
Shipley Motor Equipment Company in the amount of $490,120.00 for use by the Solid Waste
Division.
PASSED and APPROVED this 21 St day of May, 2013.

Subject: Purchase of Two Front load refuse trucks for Solid Waste
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
DEPARTMENT CORRESPONDENCE
PROPOSAL: That City Council approve the purchase of two Front load solid waste trucks in the amount of
$490,120 from Shipley Motor Co for use by Solid Waste Division.
RECOMMENDATION: Units #478 and #483 are both 2005 Autocar front load refuse trucks that are due for
replacement. Neither is dependable for full time front line use.
Bid 13-20 was opened on March 26, 2013; a bid tab sheet is attached. The Shipley Motors Bid Option 2 meets
all specs.
Fleet recommends purchasing the two Macks with Wayne Titan bodies off Bid 13-20 from Shipley Motors of
Lowell, AR in the amount of $245,060 each, for a total of $490,120.
This purchase was unanimously approved by the Equipment Committee on April 30, 2013.
BUDGET IMPACT: This replacement was budgeted for on both the capital and operating sides.
