A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT $3,660.00 DONATED IN THE MEMORY OF
MRS. MARY OSBORNE TO THE FAYETTEVILLE ANIMAL SHELTER
AND TO APPROVE THE BUDGET ADJUSTMENT RECOGNIZING THIS
DONATION REVENUE
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mary Osborne had been a long time supporter of the Fayetteville
Animal Shelter and Humane Society and her family recommended donations be given to the
Fayetteville Animal Shelter in her memory; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Noontime Basketball Association which includes
Mary's husband, Rick, donated $1,125.00 in Mary Osborne's memory to the Fayetteville Animal
Shelter; and
WHEREAS, other friends of Mary Osborne's family donated an additional $2,535.00 to
the Fayetteville Animal Shelter in her memory; and
WHEREAS, the Fayetteville City Council wishes to express its appreciation to those
generous citizens for their $3,660.00 donation to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter in Mary
Osborne's memory.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby accepts the
$3,660.00 donated in the memory of Mrs. Mary Osborne to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter,
thanks our generous citizens for these donations and approves the budget adjustment recognizing
this donation revenue.

RE: $1,125.00 donation in memory of Mrs. Mary Osborne from NBA
$2,535.00 donation from other friends in memory of Mary Osborne
When Mrs. Mary Osborne recently died, her family suggested that, in lieu of
flowers, friends could donate to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter in her memory.
Friends of her husband, Rick Osborne, who occasionally play basketball together
during the lunch hour (and self -named as the "NBA" Noontime Basketball
Association) joined together to donate $1,125.00 to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter
in honor and memory of Mrs. Mary Osborne. I told them that I would deliver the
donation and write a City Council Resolution accepting this donation.
Other friends of the Mary Osborne family also generously donated an
additional $2,535.00 in her memory to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. I have
prepared a Resolution recognizing this total donation of $3,660.00 to the
Fayetteville Animal Shelter in memory of Mary Osborne and request the City
Council accept these donations.
