A RESOLUTION TO THANK THE ESTATE OF JULIA HICKS FOR A
$25,000.00 DONATION TO THE FAYETTEVILLE ANIMAL SHELTER, TO
THANK THE OTHER GENEROUS CITIZENS FOR THEIR ADDITIONAL
DONATIONS OF $23,220.00 TO THE FAYETTEVILLE ANIMAL SHELTER
IN THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 2011 AND TO APPROVE A BUDGET
ADJUSTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,220.00 TO RECOGNIZE THIS
REVENUE
WHEREAS, the Estate of Julia Hicks made a generous donation of $25,000.00 to the
Fayetteville Animal Shelter and Animal Services; and
WHEREAS, other generous citizens have made donations to the Fayetteville Animal
Shelter totaling another $23,220.00 in the Fourth Quarter of 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby thanks the
Estate of Julia Hicks for a $25,000.00 donation to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter and further
thanks the other generous citizens for their additional $23,220.00 in donations to the Fayetteville
Animal Shelter in the fourth quarter of 2011 and approves a budget adjustment in the amount of
$48,220.00 to recognize this revenue.
PASSED and APPROVED this 21st day of February, 2012.

Subject: Approval of a Budget Adjustment for Animal Services Division
PROPOSAL:
Animal Services would like to recognize donation revenue from the fourth quarter of 2011. These funds are
donated by private citizens and organizations to benefit the animals cared for by Animal Services. In the fourth
quarter we also received a $25,000 donation from the estate of Julia Hicks and we want to express our gratitude
for this very generous gift.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of a budget adjustment to budget the Animal Services Donation Revenue for the
fourth quarter of 2011.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Recognize Animal Shelter Donations in the amount of $48,220.00
