A RESOLUTION TO ENCOURAGE SELECTION OF FAYETTEVILLE FOR
THE 2014 GOVERNOR'S CONFERENCE ON TOURISM
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville thanks the Arkansas Parks,
Recreation and Travel Commission for considering Fayetteville for the location of its 2014
Governor's Conference on Tourism; and
WHEREAS, with a proven tradition of hospitality, entertainment and fun, Fayetteville's
Town Center and completely renovated, Chancellor Hotel can serve as excellent hosts for the
Governor's Conference.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby welcomes
the Arkansas Parks, Recreation and Travel Commission's consideration of Fayetteville for the
2014 Governor's Conference on Tourism and looks forward to welcoming all attendees of this
conference to enjoy the #1 Farmers Market in America (on the Square), the preeminent
Entertainment District on Dickson Street, the beautiful U of A campus, the Clinton House
Museum, the Arkansas Air Museum and close by regional attractions such as Crystal Bridges
Museum in Bentonville and beautiful Beaver Lake.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby respectfully
requests that the Arkansas Parks, Recreation and Travel Commission choose Fayetteville as the
location for the 2014 Governor's Conference on Tourism.
PASSED and APPROVED this 18th day of September, 2012.
