A RESOLUTION AWARDING BID #11-65 AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF CRUSHED ROCK SALT FROM CENTRAL SALT
COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $79.85 PER TON, AS NEEDED
THROUGH THE END OF CALENDAR YEAR 2012
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#11-65 and authorizes the purchase of crushed rock salt from Central Salt Company in the
amount of $79.85 per ton, as needed through the end of calendar year 2012.
PASSED and APPROVED this 17th day of January, 2012.

Subject: A resolution awarding Bid 11-65 for and approving the purchase of crushed rock salt from Central
Salt Company for a unit price of $79.85 per ton as needed through the end of calendar year 2012.
PROPOSAL:
The purchase of de-icing materials is necessary to facilitate transportation and ensure public safety. Sealed
formal bids for crushed rock salt were publicly read and the results are attached to this memo.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of a resolution awarding Bid 11-65 for and approving the purchase of crushed rock
salt from Central Salt Company for a unit price of $79.85 per ton as needed through the end of calendar year
2012.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds for the acquisition of these materials have been budgeted in the 2012 Annual Budget & Work Program.
