Subject: Renaming Frazier St. to Chrysler Drive
DESCRIPTION:
This is a proposal to rename a short section of Frazier Street to N Chrysler Drive. (See attached Map)
DISCUSSION:
We have a 9-1-1 issue near the north end of Vantage Drive at the intersection of Chrysler Drive. Although these
two streets cross at right angles, Chrysler has different names on each side of the street — Chrysler on the west
and Frazier on the east. Upon investigation, we discovered that legally the Frazier Street sign is correct: the
original plat for that subdivision ("Zion Valley") shows that street name as "Frazier St." Nevertheless, it is a
confusing situation and our 911 Dispatch Manager, Kathy Stocker, strongly recommends that we correct this
situation so that the street is named the same on both sides. It will simplify directions and reduce the chance of
errors in emergency situations.
We have contacted the POA for Bellefont Gardens (current name for Zion Valley) and they do not object to the
name change. There are no addresses on this section of street so citizen inconvenience is minimal.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.
BUDGET IMPACT:
$80.00 for street sign.
