A RESOLUTION AWARDING BID #12-45 AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF TREE GRATES FROM SCURLOCK INDUSTRIES AS A
PRIMARY SUPPLIER AND NEENAH FOUNDRY COMPANY AS A
SECONDARY SUPPLIER FOR THE UNIT PRICES STATED, AND
AUTHORIZING THE USE OF OTHER BIDDERS BASED ON PRICE AND
AVAILABILITY, AS NEEDED THROUGH THE END OF CALENDAR YEAR
2012
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#12-45 and authorizes the purchase of tree grates from Scurlock Industries as a primary supplier
and Neenah Foundry Company as a secondary supplier, for the unit prices stated, as needed
through the end of calendar year 2012.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes
the use of other bidders based on price and availability.
PASSED and APPROVED this 19th day of June, 2012.

Subject: A resolution awarding Bid 12-45, Tree Grates to Scurlock Industries as primary supplier, Neenah
Foundry Company as secondary supplier, authorizing the use of other bidders based on price and availability
and approving the purchase of tree grates for the unit price amounts specified on the attached bid tabulation, as
needed through the end of calendar year 2012.
PROPOSAL:
The purchase of bulk construction materials and services is necessary to maintain the City's current
infrastructure and to implement the Capital Improvement Program projects outlined in the 2012 Annual Budget
& Work Program and five-year Capital Improvement Program. Sealed formal bids for tree grates were publicly
read and the results are attached to this memo.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends awarding the tree grates bid to Scurlock Industries as primary supplier, Neenah Foundry
Company as secondary supplier, and authorizing the use of other bidders based on price and availability for use
on an "as needed" basis, in the event that the primary or secondary suppliers cannot supply the necessary
materials or services within the time frame required to complete a project.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds for the acquisition of these materials have been budgeted in the Sidewalk Improvements project within
the Sales Tax Capital Improvements fund.
