A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO RECOGNIZE
STATE AND FEDERAL FORFEITURE REVENUE AND TO APPROVE
EXPENDITURES THEREFROM, IN THE AMOUNT OF $372,107.00
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a
budget adjustment, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A," in the amount of $372,107.00 to
recognize state and federal forfeiture revenue and to approve expenditures therefrom.

Subject: Recognize state and federal forfeitures
PROPOSAL:
The Fayetteville Police department receives both state and federal forfeitures as a result of civil
proceedings concerning cash or property seized during a criminal investigation. These forfeitures are a direct
result from the efforts of the officers assigned to the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force, local office of the
Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) or the local IRS task force. The state forfeitures may be used for any
lawful purpose and the federal forfeitures must adhere to the Guide to Equitable Sharing of Federally Forfeited
Property for State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies. All purchases utilizing these funds will follow the
City of Fayetteville Purchasing Policy.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of a budget adjustment to recognize state and federal forfeitures totaling
$372,107.00.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Increase expenses to correspond with the federal and state forfeiture revenue received during budget
year 2011.
