The Police Department has taken advantage of these contributions over the past several years. Previous contributions were used for digital cameras, crime scene investigation equipment, and other law enforcement equipment. Discussion In 2011, Wal-Mart Foundation and Facility #5737 requested an application be submitted to evaluate the needs of the community. Our Training Division requested $1,000 in funding for CPR Certification of our law enforcement officers. Many times our officers are the first person on the scene of an accident or emergency situation in which CPR is needed to be performed. This funding will allow the Police Department to train two officers to be Certified CPR Instructors and provide in-house CPR certification to all our officers. These funds will be deposited and tracked through the City's Project Accounting System to insure that the funds intended purpose is met. Recommendation Staff recommends acceptance of the Wal-Mart Foundation and Facility #5737 award and approval of a budget adjustment for Local Community Contribution in the amount of $1,000. If you should have any questions regarding this award, please contact me at extension 500. Budget Impact Increases both revenue and expense by $1,000. RESOLUTION NO.
