IN THE AMOUNT OF $98.02 PER TON AS NEEDED THROUGH THE END OF CALENDAR YEAR 2010 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby amends Resolution No. 21-10, awards Bid #10-14 and approves the purchase of crushed rock salt from Cargill, Inc. in the amount of $98.02 per ton as needed through the end of calendar year 2010. PROPOSAL: City staff received sealed formal bids for various bulk construction materials. These bids were presented to and awarded by City Council on January 19, 2010. Resolution 21-10 awarded Bid 10-14 to Cargill, Inc. in the amount of $24,505 for the purchase of crushed rock salt. Due to the unusual winter weather patterns experienced this year, the rock salt purchased has been used and stock needs replenished. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of a resolution authorizing additional purchases of crushed rock salt on an as needed basis through December 31, 2010. BUDGET IMPACT: Additional funding for the purchase of snow and ice removal materials and supplies has been requested. RESOLUTION NO.
