A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $25,000.00 TO RECOGNIZE INSURANCE SETTLEMENT
PROCEEDS RELATED TO THE TOTAL LOSS OF A POLICE
DEPARTMENT UNDERCOVER VEHICLE AND TO ESTABLISH AN
APPROPRIATION FOR A REPLACEMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a
budget adjustment, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A," in the amount of $25,000.00 to
recognize insurance settlement proceeds related to the total loss of a police department
undercover vehicle and to establish an appropriation for a replacement.

Subject: Approve Budget Adjustment and Authorize Replacement of Unit #1220
PROPOSAL:
Insurance settlement funds received from AAA Insurance in the amount of $25,000.00 to replace Unit
#1220 due to a motor vehicle accident resulting in total loss in which the other driver was found to be at fault.
These funds are needed to replace Unit #1220 which was an undercover drug enforcement vehicle. Approval of
the budget adjustment is necessary to recognize the revenue and establish an expense budget for this
replacement. This was an unforeseen event and no other funds are budgeted for this purchase.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the budget adjustment to recognize the insurance settlement funds and
authorize the Mayor to purchase a replacement undercover drug enforcement vehicle in an amount up to
$25,000 due to a motor vehicle accident resulting in total loss of Unit #1220 in which the other driver was
found to be at fault.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Proposed expenses equal to insurance settlement revenue.

I would like to confirm settlement has been made on the 2008 Mercury Mountaineer in the amount of
$25,000.00. We have already issued and mailed 50% of the payment or $12,500.00 and upon receipt of the
properly endorsed title and pick up of the vehicle we will mail the balance owed of $12,500.00.
