BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid # 09-17 and approves the purchase of two (2) police pursuit motorcycles from Pig Trail Harley Davidson in the amount of $38,000.00. DATE: March 13, 2009 SUBJECT: Purchase of two Harley Davidson Police Pursuit Motorcycles RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of two Police Pursuit Harley Davidson Motorcycles for Police Department in the amount of $38,000 BACKGROUND: Bid 09-17 was opened on February 5, 2009 for two Police Pursuit Motorcycles for use by the Police Department. Four bid responses were received. A detailed tabulation sheet is attached The only dealer who meets specs is #4 — Pig Trail Harley Davidson. This vendor offers the training that is specified for Fleet Techs to be able to attend training classes. The prices bid are base prices. With all the Police package options that are required, the final price from Pig Trail Harley Davidson should be $19,000 for each motorcycle. I recommend acceptance of the bid from Pig Trail Harley Davidson in the amount of $16,586 each plus cost of police package items. These units are to replace motorcycles #1118 and #1119. Both motorcycles were initially slated for replacement in 2008. Funds are available for this purchase in project #02081.2008 — Police / Passenger Vehicles.
