A RESOLUTION AWARDING BID #09-15 AND APPROVING THE
PURCHASE OF NINE (9) FORD CROWN VICTORIA POLICE
INTERCEPTORS FROM NORTH POINT FORD OF NORTH LITTLE
ROCK IN THE AMOUNT OF $197,091.00 PLUS APPROXIMATELY
$7,000.00 PER UNIT FOR UP -FIT ITEMS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby
awards Bid #09 15 and approves the purchase of nine (9) Ford Crown Victoria Police
Interceptors from North Point Ford of North Little Rock in the amount of $197,091.00
plus approximately $7,000.00 per unit for up -fit items.

SUBJECT: Purchase of nine Ford Crown Interceptors
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of nine Ford Crown Vic Police
Interceptors from North Point Ford of North Little Rock in the amount of $197,091 plus
approximately $7,000 per unit for up -fit items
BACKGROUND: Fleet has not yet purchased replacement Police sedans from the 2008
budget. Fleet was waiting for State Contract pricing to come out - which it did late in October.
An Oklahoma dealer got the Arkansas state contract on Police Crown Interceptors. Fleet would
prefer to keep the money within the state.
Bid 09-15 was opened January 14th — seven bids were received. A bid tab sheet is attached.
The low bid from North Point Ford for $21,899 each meets all specifications. This is $898 00
less for each Crown than the state contract price.
There will be approximately an additional $7,000 for each unit for all the up -fit items (cage,
seats, consoles, shotgun rack, trunk trays, light bars, sirens, etc.). Fleet is ordering the vehicles
fully equipped which will save the tax on the up -fit items.
I recommend the purchase of nine Ford Interceptors from North Point Ford. It will save the
City of Fayetteville $8,082 compared to buying off the state Vehicle Purchase Contract, and it
will keep the funds within the state.
Funds are available for this purchase in Fleet Project #02081 Police/Passenger Vehicles.
