RESOLUTION NO. 236-09
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $25,000.00 TO THE
FAYETTEVILLE ANIMAL SHELTER FROM THE ESTATE OF KATHRYN
B. STOUT, AND APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT RECOGNIZING
THE DONATION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby accepts the
donation of $25,000.00 from the estate of Kathryn B. Stout to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas authorizes a budget
adjustment recognizing the donation.

Subject: Recognition of Donation to Animal Shelter
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the approval of the budget adjustment recognizing the donation to the
animal shelter.
BACKGROUND
Ms. Kathryn B. Stout donated funds to assist in the construction of the main shelter in
1991. She had a fondness for young dogs and was recognized for her funding of the
puppy adoption room. Every year, Ms Stout gave the shelter a donation to assist in
purchasing needed supplies, vaccinations, and medications.
Ms. Stout bequeathed $25,000 to the animal shelter. This donation is to be used for any
needs associated to puppies.
DISCUSSION
The Animal Services Division is very grateful for the generous support of Ms. Stout. We
would like to recognize the donation of $25,000 and will erect permanent signage in the
puppy adoption area in her honor.
BUDGET IMPACT
Additional funding will be used to make needed improvements to the puppy area All
remaining funds will be directed to the puppy welfare.
