A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAMES OF SECTIONS OF WEST
SALEM ROAD AND WEST WEIR ROAD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves
changing the names of sections of West Salem Road and West Weir Road to North Rupple
Road., as depicted on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit "A," and made a part hereof.

Subject: Approval of a resolution to change the name of a section of W Salem Road
to Rupple Road and change the name of a section of W Weir Road to
Rupple Road.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that several sections of existing roadway be changed to Rupple Road.
This is to solve the problem of this north -south corridor changing names four tines with 'A
mile.
BACKGROUND
As Rupple Road will eventually extend north to Weir Road, it will create multiple street
name changes within a short driving distance, creating potential E911 issues and confusion
for delivery services. Currently there are only two existing residential addresses that will
be affected by this change, whereas it may affect more addresses in the future as this area
continues to grow.
BUDGET IMPACT
Approximately 5200.00 for the installation of new street signs.
