A RESOLUTION APPROVING BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS TOTALING
$26,000.00 FROM ANIMAL SERVICES MISCELLANEOUS DONATIONS
TO MEET INCREASED SUPPLY AND OPERATIONAL COSTS AT THE
FAYETTEVILLE ANIMAL SHELTER.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section I: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves
budget adjustments totaling $26,000.00 from Animal Services Miscellaneous Donations to meet
increased supply and operational costs at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter

Re: Request approval to recognize miscellaneous donations for expense accounts
Recommendation
Staff requests approval to recognize miscellaneous donations for the following expense accounts:
Medical Supplies, Vet/Surgical Supplies, and Cleaning Supplies.
Background
Due to the rising costs of needed supplies, the Animal Services Division is requesting
recognizing $26,000 from the Miscellaneous Donations revenue account to cover expenses in the
above listed accounts. As in 2007, the 2008 operating budget for the listed accounts was
$17,837; actual expenses in 2008 were $71,808.
Discussion
Due to the increase in costs this year, additional funds are needed to cover medical, surgical, and
cleaning supply expenses.
Budget Impact
The miscellaneous donations received are given for the health, welfare and needs of the animals
while in the shelter's .care. Private citizens and organizations give to Animal Services so that all
the animals are given the proper care they deserve.
