A RESOLUTION TO REPEAL RESOLUTION NO. 87-09 AND TO AWARD
BID # 09-28 FOR AN EXTENDED CAB COMPACT PICKUP TRUCK TO
LEWIS FORD OF FAYETTEVILLE IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,987.00
WHEREAS, the apparent low bidder selected in Resolution No. 87-09 mistakenly bid
the wrong vehicle and is therefore not a qualified bidder, which makes Lewis Ford the lowest
qualified bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby repeals
Resolution No. 87-09 and awards Bid # 09-28 for an extended cab compact pickup truck to
Lewis Ford of Fayetteville in the amount of $15,987.00.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one compact 2 x 4 pickup truck
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council rescind Resolution #87-09 to purchase a compact 2x4
pickup truck from Lander's McLarty Ford of Bentonville, and approve the purchase of a compact
2x4 pickup truck from Lewis Ford of Fayetteville in the amount of $15,987.00
BACKGROUND: At the Council meeting of April 21, 2009 the purchase of one compact 2x4
pickup truck from Lander's McLarty Ford was approved in the amount of $15,041.75. Lander's
McLarty has since advised that they inadvertently bid the wrong vehicle so their bid #09-28 does
not meet the City specifications.
The lowest bid that does meet specs is from Lewis Ford of Fayetteville.
I recommend the purchase of the pickup from Lewis Ford in the amount of $15,987.
Funds are available for this purchase in Project 02078, Light/Medium Utility Vehicles.
