A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2)
DODGE CHARGER POLICE PURSUIT SEDANS FROM
McKINNEY DODGE OF McKINNEY, TEXAS THROUGH THE
STATE VEHICLE PURCHASE CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$20,318.00 EACH PLUS APPROXIMATELY $7,000.00 PER UNIT
FOR UP -FIT ITEMS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
hereby approves the purchase of two (2) Dodge Charger Police Pursuit Sedans
from McKinney Dodge of McKinney, Texas through the State Vehicle Purchase
Contract in the amount of $20,318.00 each plus approximately $7,000 00 per unit
for up -fit items.

SUBJECT: Purchase of two Dodge Charger Police Pursuit sedans
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of two Dodge Charger Police
Pursuit sedans from McKinney Dodge of McKinney, Texas from the State Vehicle Purchase
Contract in the amount of $40,636, plus approximately $7,000 each unit for up -fit items
BACKGROUND: Fleet has not yet purchased replacement Police sedans from the 2008
budget. Fleet was waiting for State Contract pricing to come out - which it did late in October.
The Police Department has requested to purchase 2 Dodge Chargers and 9 Crown Interceptors
with the 2008 funds. The Chargers on state contract will cost $20,318 each. The Police
Department wants to try out the two Chargers for the next year in consideration of possible
future downsizing of pursuit units.
There will be approximately an additional $7,000 for each unit for all the up -fit items (cage,
seats, consoles, shotgun rack, trunk trays, light bars, sirens, etc.).
I recommend the purchase of two Dodge Charger Police Pursuit sedans from the State Vehicle
Purchase Contract.
Funds are available for this purchase in Fleet Project #02081 Police/Passenger Vehicles.
