BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
hereby awards Bid #08-27 and approves the purchase of two (2) compact hybrid
sedans from Longo Toyota of Los Angeles, California in the amount of $44,360.00

RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of two compact hybrid sedans
for assignment to the Fleet Rental Pool for out of town and short term local use.
7 BACKGROUND The bid from Longo Toyota of Los Angeles, CA meets all specifications. I
have contacted the dealer and confirmed that delivery will be handled by a local Toyota dealer.
I recommend acceptance of the bid from Longo Toyota in the amount of $44,360.00.
These units are replacements for unit #1019, a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
budgeted for replacement with a hybrid in 2008 and for unit #1001, a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria
Police Interceptor budgeted for replacement in 2007 A vehicle life cost comparison which
indicates a significant life cost advantage for the hybrid is attached.
Funds are available for this purchase in Fleet Replacement Special Project 02081 — Passenger
Vehicles.
The purchase of these trucks was approved by the Equipment Committee at the meeting on
February 261 2008.

SUBJECT: Award of Bid 08-27
Bid #08-27 was opened on February 12,2008 for two compact hybrid sedans for assignment to the
Fleet Rental Pool for out of town trip and short term local use. One bid response was received. This
bid is less than the State Contract bid for the same vehicle. A detailed tabulation sheet is attached.
The bid from Longo Toyota of Los Angeles, CA meets all specifications. I have contacted the dealer
and confirmed that delivery will be handled by a local Toyota dealer.
I recommend acceptance of the bid from Longo Toyota in the amount of $44,360.00.
