BACKGROUND: Vehicles meeting City of Fayetteville specifications are available through the State vehicle purchase contract from Lander's Ford. Compact extended cab two wheel drive pickups cost is $11,892.10 each No suitable compact regular cab pickup is available from the State contract. Local quotes for compact regular cabs were $1,204.90 more than recommended State contract extended cabs. I recommend purchase of two compact extended cab 2x4 pickup trucks from the State Vehicle Purchase Contract. These units are replacements for units #2045, a 2002 Ford Ranger with 120,000 miles and #20471 a 2002 Ford Ranger with 75,000 miles. Unit #2047 will be assessed for possible reassignment to the Fleet Rental/Maintenance Loaner Pool. Funds are available for this purchase in Fleet Replacement Special Project 02078 — Light Trucks. The purchase of these trucks was approved by the Equipment Committee at the meeting on February 26, 2008. RESOLUTION NO. I recommend acceptance of the bid from Golden Circle Ford in the amount of $30,362.00. These units are replacements for units #2045, a 2002 Ford Ranger with 120,000 miles and #2047, a 2002 Ford Ranger with 75,000 miles.
