RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this $20,000.00 payment to the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department (AHTD) in order to proceed with this bridge replacement project. BACKGROUND: On February 7, 2006 the City Council passed Resolution No. 24-06 expressing the willingness of the City of Fayetteville to participate with the AHTD to utilize Federal -aid funds provided by the Federal Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program. The resolution provided the funding split of eighty percent (80%) Federal and twenty percent (20%) city with a one million dollar cap on the Federal funds. DISCUSSION: The AHTO has developed preliminary design plans for the bridge replacement project and has estimated that the utility replacement/relocation costs for this project is $100,000.00. According to the agreement, the City is responsible for 20% of these utility relocation costs and the AHTD is currently requesting payment in order to proceed with the project. BUDGET IMPACT: The City currently has $929,017.00 budgeted for this project. 1 RESOLUTION NO.
