A RESOLUTION TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND THANK
MARSHA MELNICHAK OF THE NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
TIMES FOR HER FAIR AND ACCURATE REPORTING OF
CITY BUSINESS
WHEREAS, Marsha Melnichak has consistently endeavored to accurately report
newsworthy events at the City of Fayetteville; and
WHEREAS, Marsha would often confirm quotations or comments from City staff and
officials to ensure their accuracy; and
WHEREAS, Marsha maintained a very objective perspective when writing her news
articles so that both sides of a City issue would receive fair and equal treatment in the press.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS'
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, hereby expresses
its deep respect and appreciation of Marsha Melnichak for her long and excellence service as the
City reporter for the Northwest Arkansas Times. Further, the City Council asks our citizens to
give Marsha Melnichak the respect and honor she deserves for upholding the best and most
cherished traditions of America's free press.
