A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF ONE FULL-
TIME POLICE DISPATCHER
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves
the hiring of a replacement employee for the following position in the Fayetteville Police
Department:
(A) One full-time Police Dispatcher.

Re: Replacement of Dispatcher
Recommendation: City Council approves the hiring of one (1) dispatcher to replace a
recent resignation.
Background: On January 4, 2008, the Fayetteville City Council approved a hiring freeze
for replacement employees funded by General Fund. This hiring freeze allowed
replacement of these positions with Council approval.
Discussion: The Fayetteville Police Department Central Dispatch currently has 18
authorized dispatch positions. One of our dispatchers has resigned effective October
18, 2008. It takes us six months to train a new dispatcher.
Budget Impact: This is a budgeted position.
