A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF ONE YVONNE
RICHARDSON CENTER PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR THE
PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves
the hiring of a replacement employee for the following position:

Subject: Replacement of YRCC Program Coordinator
Recommendation: City Council approves the hiring of the Yvonne Richardson Center Program
Coordinator for the Parks and Recreation Division.
Background: On September 15, 2008, YRCC Program Coordinator Jean Genereau submitted her
resignation to her supervisor to be effective this Friday, September I9.
Discussion: The YRCC Program Coordinator coordinates and supervises daily activities and
special events at the Yvonne Richardson Community Center. Approximately 80 children and adults
participate in daily activities such as tutoring / homework assistance, art classes, a computer lab,
basketball, open play and special field trips. With the YRCC being open seven days per week and
only one other full time staff member, along with one Vista Volunteer, being assigned to the
Center, it is essential that this person be replaced as soon as possible.
Budget Impact: This position salary is funded by the General Fund, in the Yvonne Richardson
Community Center Program. In 2008, there is $39,573 budgeted for this position. This figure
includes salary, taxes and benefits.
