A RESOLUTION APPROVING BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS
TOTALING $23,110.00 FROM ANIMAL SERVICES
MISCELLANEOUS DONATIONS TO MEET INCREASED
SUPPLY AND OPERATIONAL COSTS AT THE FAYETTEVILLE
ANIMAL SHELTER FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2008
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves
budget adjustments totaling $23,110.00 from Animal Services Miscellaneous Donations to meet
increased supply and operational costs at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter for the remainder of
2008.

Supply costs have increased. Accounts did not have
sufficient funds to purchase needed supplies and
equipment to the end of the year.

Collected miscellaneous donations are for the humane
treatment and care of the shelter animals.

Recommendation
Staff requests approval to recognize miscellaneous donations for the following expense accounts:
Dog Food and Supplies, Minor Equipment, Cleaning Supplies, Chemicals, Fixed Assets, and
Building Maintenance.
Background
Due to the rising costs of needed supplies, the Animal Services Division is requesting
recognizing $23,1.10 from the Miscellaneous Donations revenue account to cover expenses in the
above listed accounts to the end of 2008. As in 2007, the 2008 operating budget for the five
listed accounts is $25,250; actual expenses for 2007 were $35,479.
Discussion
Due to the increase in costs this year, additional funds are needed to cover supply, equipment and
repair expenses.
Budget Impact
The Miscellaneous Donations received are given for the proper care and needs of the shelter
animals.
