RESOLUTION NO. 165-08
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO RECOGNIZE
FEDERAL FORFEITURE REVENUE IN THE AMOUNT OF $59,133.00, AND
STATE FORFEITURE REVENUE IN THE AMOUNT OF $21,237.00 FOR
POLICE DEPARTMENT USE ONLY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a
budget adjustment to recognize Federal Forfeiture Revenue in the amount of $59,133.00, and
State Forfeiture Revenue in the amount of $21,237.00 for Police Department use only.

Re: Approval of Budget Adjustments to recognize State and Federal Forfeitures
Background
The Fayetteville Police Department receives forfeitures as a result of civil proceedings
concerning cash or property seized during a criminal investigation. Most of the forfeitures we
have received in the past are a direct result from the efforts of the officers we assign to the 4th
Judicial District Drug Task Force (4th DTF) and the local office of the Federal Drug Enforcement
Agency (DEA).
Discussion
We must follow the Guide to Equitable Sharing of Federally Forfeited Property for State and
Local Law Enforcement Agencies to spend federal forfeitures. State forfeitures are to be spent
for law enforcement purposes. All purchases utilizing these funds follow the City of Fayetteville
Purchasing Policy.
Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of both budget adjustments in the amounts of $21,237.00 and
$59,133.00.
