Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid
#08-49 to Deerskin Manufacturing, Inc to purchase a chassis -mounted Animal Control Body in

RECCOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of one chassis mount animal
control body for use by Animal Services in the amount of $21,600.
BACKGROUND: At the February 19th, 2008 Council meeting approval was received for a % ton
cab chassis for use by Animal Services for animal control. The chassis was ordered. Fleet
proceeded to get a quote from Deerskin Mfg. for a 6 compartment chassis mount body for the
truck. The price of the body (with taxes) came in over $20,000.
The specs were sent out for bid. Bid 08-49 was opened June 3, 2008; only one bid was
received. The Bid Tab sheet is attached.
Funds for this purchase are available in Project 02078 — Light/Medium Trucks
The purchase of this unit was approved by the Equipment Committee on June 10th, 2008.
